Acceptable Use Policy
GetShopSync is shared infrastructure. Misuse harms other customers, third-party websites and our systems. This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and sets out what you must not do.
Smart Station (Pty) Ltd · Last updated 30 July 2026
1. Unlawful and abusive conduct
- Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose under South African or other applicable law.
- Do not upload malware, or content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing or fraudulent.
- Do not attempt to reach another customer's catalogue, data or credentials.
2. Third-party websites
- Do not instruct the service to retrieve any site you do not have a legal right to access.
- Do not breach a third party's terms of use or technical access controls.
- Do not use the service for large-scale retrieval intended to overload a site or bypass its protections.
- Do not use the service to collect personal information from the open web for marketing lists or similar purposes.
The service being technically able to fetch a page is not permission to do so. That permission is yours to hold, and yours to prove.
3. AI features
- Do not present AI Output as human-verified safety, medical or regulated product claims without competent review.
- Do not attempt to extract model weights, system prompts or other non-public details of the AI systems.
- Do not deliberately exhaust or attack our AI providers through the service.
4. Platform integrity
- Do not probe, scan, penetration-test or load-test our systems without our written permission.
- Do not reverse engineer the service, except where the law gives you a right that cannot be excluded.
- Do not circumvent product-capacity limits, authentication or role controls.
- Do not resell, sublicense or white-label the service without a written agreement with us.
5. Integrations
- Do not use a third-party API key beyond the authority that platform granted you.
- Do not use an integration for spam, phishing or activity that breaches the platform's policies.
6. What we expect of you
- Assign roles on a least-privilege basis.
- Review captured content before you publish or synchronise it.
- Keep Customer Content accurate and lawful.
- Keep credentials secure, and rotate them if you think they have been exposed.
- Respond promptly if we tell you we suspect abuse.
7. How we enforce this
We investigate suspected breaches. Depending on what we find we may warn you, throttle or suspend capture or synchronisation, suspend or close accounts, remove content that creates legal risk, report unlawful activity to the authorities, or rely on the indemnity in the Terms of Service.
Where the situation allows it, we will contact you before acting.
8. Reporting abuse
Report abuse or a suspected security issue to security@getshopsync.com. Include enough detail for us to reproduce or locate the problem. We do not take legal action against people who report a genuine security issue to us in good faith and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it before disclosing it.
Anything here you would like explained?
If a clause affects a decision you are making, ask us. We would rather answer it now than have you find out later.
